Hi there! I'm your photographer, Tara Motyer (MOH-teer). I know, that last name leaves us all scratching our heads on how to say it. So let's just keep this relationship on a first name basis.

I'm a Mrs, a mom, a friend, a mentor and a photographer. I picked up a camera as a teenager and loved the creative (yet expensive!) options it offered. I shelved that passion for a while until we moved our little family to Italy for a year and a half back in 2000/2001. During that time, I literally took THOUSANDS of pictures. I discovered that I had an eye for the art but needed to hone my technical skills. This was right around the introduction to digital so when we moved back to the US, I bought a new camera and got to work. Dragonfly Photo & Design came to be in December of 2007. 

I know how stressful an upcoming photo shoot can be so I do everything I can to make the process as easy and fun as possible. I would describe my style as more journalistic. You know, "catching a moment" - that special smile for mom, the giant newborn yawn, even a teen's eye-rolling. But of course I don't like to limit myself so I branched into studio lighting and formal portraits as well. The best compliment I get from clients is "That was way more fun than I thought it would be!". I believe that when the shoot itself is a happy memory, you will love your photos even more!

I not only offer beautiful, high quality portrait services but I have a wide range of unique wall art on several mediums and gorgeous print options. I also custom design cards, announcements, and stunning wall collages.
